Yellow Caturro - Washed
Peru
The return of the El Morito “Caturro” (Yellow Caturro) marks a fascinating evolution in our second year of direct trade with the farm. While last season’s harvest was a classic representation of a high-grown profile, the 2025-2026 collection has shifted toward a strikingly exotic and tropical character.
This lot stands as a true anomaly for the variety. Defying the standard expectations of a Caturro, it offers a level of crystalline clarity and unconventional flavor complexity typically reserved for much rarer cultivars.
The Tasting Experience
The cup is defined by its vibrant, botanical energy and a remarkably clean structure:
-
Palate: A lush and bright base of dragonfruit.
-
Aromatics: Elegant and distinctive purple daisy florals.
-
The Finish: A lingering, sophisticated aftertaste of white strawberry.
Why this lot is a standout:
By utilizing the farm's unique high-altitude environment, this Caturro has been transformed from a traditional staple into an exotic masterpiece. It is a rare opportunity to experience a familiar variety through a completely different, tropical lens—making it a perfect companion to the "electric" Geisha and "magical" Marshall in this year's lineup.
